Project's description

Located on a vast 1.3-hectare site in Benslimane defined by two opposing forces—a rugged stone quarry and a delicate olive grove—this project is an exercise in "Agro-Architecture." The residence is conceived not as a single block, but as a fragmented series of pavilions connected by a spinal circulation axis.

The design utilizes the high thermal mass of locally excavated stone to anchor the building, while sleek, cantilevered concrete planes provide deep shade. The result is a home that feels like a modern ruin: ancient in its materiality, but hyper-modern in its precision.

Technical Specifications:

  • Energy Autonomy: A dedicated 150m² photovoltaic field coupled with Tesla Powerwall storage ensures 100% off-grid capability for the entire estate.
  • Hydrological Strategy: The 25m lap pool acts as a thermal heat sink, working in tandem with a greywater reed-bed filtration system that recycles water for the olive grove irrigation.
  • Passive Cooling: The "Quarry Walls" are 60cm thick double-leaf stone masonry, creating a thermal lag of 12 hours that keeps the interior cool during the Benslimane peaks without mechanical AC.
