Project's description

Delivering a headquarters for Google requires more than aesthetic vision; it demands absolute technical certainty. The challenge was to integrate 21st-century data infrastructure and agile workspace dynamics into a protected Grade-I listed monument. We acted as the lead technical interface, bridging the gap between Silicon Valley workplace standards and strict Bavarian preservation laws.

Technical Specifications:

  • Structural Retrofit: Insertion of a 500-ton independent steel exoskeleton to support new cantilevered meeting pods.
  • Acoustic Engineering: Custom-milled micro-perforated timber linings to achieve 0.6s reverberation time in 8-meter high historic halls.
  • Sustainability: achieved LEED Gold certification through the integration of a district heating exchange and smart-glass automated shading.
